building with vintage homesWhen you make the decision to build a new home with Vintage Homes, we provide you with our Vintage Homes Homeowner Specification Manual, which serves as your "guideline" while your home is being built. While your home is being built, the manual will detail every stage of the construction process, as well as prepare you for each meeting that you will attend with your Vintage Homes team, which will be taking place in the weeks after your contract is signed.

Your Vintage Homes Homeowner Specification Manual has been designed to assist you through every step of the exciting process of building a new home. We ask that you read certain sections prior to your appointments to help the process flow easier. Because communication is a vital ingredient to customer satisfaction, the Vintage Homes Homeowner Specification Manual helps to answer many of your questions before, during, and after your home is completed.

The Path to Your New Home

  1. Mortgage Loan Application - Within 5 days of the effective date of the contract
  2. Color Selections - With our Professional Decorating Team
  3. Start Meeting - With your designated Project Manager at the home site
  4. Homeowner Review #1 - Pre-Drywall Meeting with the Construction Manager at your new home
  5. Pre-Closing Review - With your Construction Project Manager
  6. Homeowner Review #3 - New Home Presentation with the Construction Project Manager  at your new home
  7. Homeowner Review #4 - New Home Acceptance with the Construction Project Manager at your new home
  8. Closing - With the Closing Coordinator at the Title Company office


Critical Stages / Milestones of the Construction of Your Home

  1. Foundation - Lot preparation has been completed and the foundation has been installed
  2. Frame Complete - All interior and exterior walls have been installed, as well as the roof trusses and sheathing.
  3. Windows & Shingles - Installation of the windows, roof shingles and even exterior doors has been completed at this stage.
  4. Ready for Drywall - Electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems have been installed and inspected and wall insulation has also been installed.
  5. Drywall Completed - The exterior veneer (stucco, brick, siding and/or stone) has been installed and the drywall ceiling and wall textures have also been installed
  6. Wood Trim & Interior Door Installation - This stage has been completed upon the installation of the interior doors and moldings.
  7. Cabinets & Countertops - All Kitchen and Bathroom cabinets and countertops have been installed at this stage. Painting is also being completed.
  8. Flooring Completed - All hard surface flooring (tile, hardwoods) , as well as carpet and vinyl flooring has been completely installed. Lighting and plumbing fixtures have also been installed.
  9. Project Manager Acceptance - Your personal Construction Project Manager has walked your home and has completed a thorough quality inspection.
  10. Homeowner Acceptance - Your new Vintage Homes home has been completed! Your Construction Project Manager will walk with you through your home to present and demonstrate all of its features to you. You will be moving into your new home very soon!
